Friday Night Chaos: 3 SoCal High School Football Upsets That Shook Up Week 6

SoCal football went sideways this week. Some Top dogs folded, others controlled everyting, hungry programs made noise, and a few underdogs wrote their names in blood on that scoreboard. I break it down from an athlete’s lens — no cap, no filter.

If you been outside these last few Fridays, you already know — this season’s been straight wild. Week 6 came through with that smoke. I’m talkin’ teams you swore couldn’t hang… pulling off movie-level upsets.

I watched film, I got calls from sideline connects, and trust me — these three games flipped the script.

Sierra Canyon stuns Serra (Gardena), 30-0

See out the gate — Sierra Canyon came to rearrange furniture in their new house. They walked right into Serra’s crib with they shoes on, turned the thermostat up, grabbed the remote, and ate the leftovers like it was their spot. Straight violation.

Serra been a name in SoCal — they got history, they got pride — but this one? Yeah, that’s gonna sting for a while. The Trailblazers didn’t just win 30-0, they put bta and owned every square inch of that field like rent was due and Serra is past due.

Serra’s offense? Man… they couldn’t complete a pass if you spotted ‘em the route, the snap, and the open man. Sierra Canyon’s defense had that “nah, not today” energy — locking up routes, jamming lanes, making the QB look like he forgot the Wi-Fi password.

On the other end, Sierra Canyon’s offense was chillin’. They held the TV remote, controlled tempo, and ran the show like it was scripted. Every possession felt like a flex. Run game bruised ‘em, passing game carved ‘em — that’s balance and execution.

Look, on paper this was supposed to be a fight. But nah, this was a dog walk. Ain’t no moral victories when you don’t put up a single point.

And let’s be real — this wasn’t some lucky Friday night fluke. That’s five straight wins Sierra Canyon got over Serra now. That’s generational dominance. Every year Serra talkin’ “this the one,” and every year Sierra Canyon show up like, “nah, same story, different Friday.”

This loss marks Serra’s third straight L, dropping them to 3-3, while Sierra Canyon sittin’ pretty at 6-0, lookin’ like they tryna run through the rest of the schedule untouched. SI

St. John Bosco Makes JSerra Look Like Freshmen: 70-21 Demolition

Bro, I’m still scratching my head at this one. St. John Bosco didn’t just beat JSerra — they embarrassed them. 70-21? That’s not a game… this is damn near unfair. MaxPreps.com+1

JSerra came in with confidence tho. They had that swag, thinking their name and rankings would carry ’em. Bosco came and just drung JSerra. They forced turnovers, ran the rock, hit them boys in the face, and turned what should’ve been a battle into a whooping that will scare them kids for decades to come.

You ever see a defense so active that they look like they got a vendetta? Every drive felt like they were lining up just to run up the score. JSerra must have said something about they mamas.

Watching JSerra’s unit try to respond was painful. Their composure cracked. They turned corners late. They forgot fundamentals. It happens when you face a juggernaut that’s playing like it knows it’s better. Just sad to watch.

This is more than just one loss for JSerra — this is a red mark on their resume. If they wanna stay in conversation with elite squads, they gotta figure something out, because they aint it right now.

Corona del Mar Puts the Clamp on San Juan Hills: 33-10 Stunner

Don’t sleep on them Sea Kings — Corona del Mar just made a statement by dropping San Juan Hills, 33-10.

On paper, San Juan Hills had more buzz, more momentum. But Corona del Mar came with that cold attitude — physical line play, crisp throws, taking what was given and denying what they weren’t.

San Juan Hills tried to punch back, but Corona’s defense held every surge. They turned lanes into dead ends, made receivers uncomfortable, got behind the QB and chased him into the dirt. The offense? Balanced. They didn’t force fancy routes — they executed, ran smart, attacked seams, and kept drives alive. – Balanced ball right there.

That 23-point margin was straight discipline + swag + prep. San Juan Hills looked like they got outworked tonight.

If San Juan Hills was expecting to dominate, Corona del Mar told ‘em otherwise. This is the kind of upset that earns respect — and nets you attention in any Top 100 convo.
